Ally McCoist & Derek McInnes reacts to Conor Goldson-Rangers contract saga

Rangers are set to be involved in yet another contract saga in the coming months over the future of Conor Goldson.

Ally McCoist has been left baffled by the admission that the defender is still not in talks to resolve his future at the club.

Derek McInnes agreed with McCoist, insisting that there will be clubs watching with intrigue over his future.

Speaking on BT Sports this evening ahead of the clash against Brondby, McCoist started the conversation on Goldson.

“I’ve got no doubt that Steven and his representatives will get together and have a chat one way or another,” he said.

“It’s a funny one because Conor hasn’t had the form this season that he showed last season. His future will definitely be on his mind, at the same time the important thing is that he’s got to put it behind him.

McInnes also reacted to the ongoing saga after McCoist and appeared to agree with what was being said.

“I think it’s clear from that interview that he’s really keen to stay, he’s said all the right things there – I just worry that as soon as a player goes into the last year of his contract it becomes really difficult.”

Goldson admitting that no talks have really started regarding his future has really started to worry us moving forward.

Looking at our other options, you panic as soon as the Englishman is missing with those around him not good enough to play without him.

Jack Simpson is third in line at this moment, and he has been nowhere good enough since arriving from Bournemouth.

Leon Balogun and Filip Helander have been superb at times at Ibrox, but have always looked better with Goldson beside them.

This needs to be sorted, and it needs to be finalised as soon as possible.
