Ally McCoist predicts Rangers clash v Sparta Prague

Ally McCoist has insisted that Rangers simply have to beat Sparta Prague in the Europa League this evening.

The Bears welcome the Czechs to Ibrox knowing that a big win could all-but-guarantee them second spot in the group.

It will be Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s first game in charge of the club, and McCoist believes that his first job is to get one over on Sparta.

Speaking live on talkSPORT this morning, McCoist shared his thoughts on what promises to be an amazing night at Ibrox.

“They have to beat their result over in Prague,” he said.

“Are they [Prague] a good side? I didn’t think so.”

Spot on.

Rangers have no excuses this time around, they simply have to win.

Defeat would see them staring down the barrel, with the Conference League likely in their future for finishing third in the group.

Having said that, it would also give Brondby hope knowing that if they beat Sparta Prague in the final match week, they could finish third.

Given the head-to-head record rule applies, the Bears will be looking to better the 1-0 result Sparta Prague picked up in the reverse fixture.

Van Bronckhorst has promised changes after the shocker against Hibs, let’s hope it is enough to get the job done and really kickstart this new era.

McCoist will no doubt be covering the game, and hopefully, we will be seeing that huge smile and his classic analysis of some brilliant goals in what promises to be another huge European night at Ibrox.
