‘I like this a lot’ – Former PL midfielder blown away by major Rangers news emerging from Ibrox

Curtis Woodhouse believes that it’s a good move for Rangers to turn to QPR manager Michael Beale as they look to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

The Dutchman was relieved of his duties earlier in November after a poor Champions League campaign as well as domestic results.

This has seen many names thrown into the hat, but it turns out that Beale has emerged the leading contender to take over.

Woodhouse, a former Premier League midfielder, said on Twitter, “I like this!!!! I like this a lot!!!”

Good move?

Since his decision to snub the Wolves job, Beale’s performances as a manager have not been impressive as his QPR side have gone on a losing run.

Being the leaders and one of the favourites for promotion, they now find themselves out of the play-off positions as well.

However, he was one of the main reasons why Steven Gerrard succeeded at the helm at Ibrox so one can understand the reasons behind this pursuit.

He is also familiar with the board and knows just what to expect from them and vice versa and sometimes that kind of relationship is important.

Even Gerrard had no managerial experience before he joined and that turned out to be a good appointment so we’re hoping for the same from Beale.

Hopefully, they sort out whatever is left to be done and the announcement can be made sooner rather than later as delays help nobody.

In other Rangers news, a four-time league winner is likely to want to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst and may even throw his CV into the mix after a major recent development.
