Rangers official partner shares major news after ‘recent rumours’ emerge

Heart and Hand, the official media partners of Rangers, have shared that Tom Lawrence hasn’t suffered any new setback, contrary to reports.

Rangers Review reported on 23 November that Lawrence has been ruled out of action until March, although he was expected to return after the end of the World Cup.

The former Derby County captain was expected to visit a specialist in London to assess his Achilles issue, but Heart and Hand have allayed those fears.

Via Twitter, they wrote: “Spoken to [the] club regarding Tom Lawrence and they say he has not suffered any setback despite recent rumours.”

Long injury list

Lawrence joined during the summer transfer window and made an instant impact.

He scored three goals in as many games but has not featured for the club in many months. Lawrence last featured against Ross County on 27 August, and it remains unclear when he can take the field again.

Amid conflicting reports, let’s hope that he has recovered fully and that he can return to action in the second half of the season.

Rangers have had tough luck with their injuries this season. The defence particularly has been severely ravaged with the likes of John Souttar and Conor Goldson both being out with long-term injury issues.

Summer signing Ben Davies is also currently on the sidelines, while Kemar Roofe, another key player, has barely featured this season.

Roofe has managed only nine minutes of Scottish Premiership action and has struggled badly with injuries.

Ianis Hagi hasn’t played a single minute so far, but he is likely to return after the World break after recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
