Aston Villa midfielder Aaron Ramsey has sent Todd Cantwell a four-word message after the 24-year-old completed his move to Rangers.
Cantwell finalised his move to Ibrox on Monday (23 January) after Norwich City agreed to sanction the midfielder’s move to Ibrox, with there only six months left on his deal.
The 24-year-old has since posted a picture on Instagram (23 January), and former Norwich loanee Ramsey has since sent Cantwell a message.
“All the best bro,” wrote the 20-year-old (23 January).
Cantwell is certainly an exciting addition to Michael Beale’s squad and a statement of intent from the board. It was only 12 months ago the midfielder was linked with a big-money move to Liverpool. He’s a player with immense potential and is still at an age where he can fulfil it.
Moving to a different league and away from the full-blooded nature of the Championship could certainly be a good thing for Cantwell. The Scottish Premiership will potentially allow him slightly more space to express himself and influence games in the way he would like to.
It’s up to Beale to manage the former Norwich man in the right way and not throw him straight in at the deep end. The 42-year-old has been excellent at rotating his squad and giving players a chance, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he manages to get the best out of Cantwell in a Rangers jersey.
